Application for LKF coding leveraged

LKF is the Austrian equivalent of a "DRG-like" system. It serves as a tool for DOCUMENTING expenses within hospitals and their associated geographical regions. All expenses are funded through an annual budget, which is supported by UPFRONT payments from statutory health insurances and the government. When purchasing new, unlisted products, the account in question aims to have them added to the list to leverage procedures at a higher scale. DOSSIERS are submitted by one or more major hospitals that have the entitlement and capability to perform related procedures (e.g., femoral access, cath lab, etc.). The uploaded DOSSIER includes current clinical evidence and a calculation file with comprehensive in-patient costs for the intervention and all related products. Endorsement by LKF gatekeepers depends on positive HTA asessment by www.aihta.at. If all goes well, a new code will come into effect on January 2025.
